The luxury of being ordinary is priceless

From Bihar to Dubai, ORO24’s Atif Rahman is set to transform the landscape in Dubai with residential offerings for the mid-market audience

Atif Rahman, the visionary behind ORO24, a Dubai-based real estate development firm, has been on a remarkable journey, from a modest upbringing in India to now one of the major players in the dynamic Dubai real estate market.

“There’s something to be said for coming from humble beginnings,” Rahman says. “I grew up in a small town in the state of Bihar and have been living and working in real estate in Dubai for the last 20 years. This company, ORO24, is my third venture here.”

Rahman’s story is not just about business success, but also about staying true to one’s roots and embracing the philosophy of serving human needs.

“I feel lucky that I was in Dubai as the market started taking off,” Rahman reflects. “I was in the right place at the right time and worked with some great people to get where I am.”

His journey into real estate was deeply influenced by his family’s legacy. Born into a family deeply entrenched in the real estate and the business of construction, he learned the ropes of the trade from a young age, where even as a child he displayed a talent for building structures. It was this upbringing that laid the foundation for his future endeavours in the industry.

“From a young age, my family encouraged my interest in building things,” he says. “As a kid, I’d make little houses out of mud, sticks, even empty boxes. That curiosity really started with my grandfather and father.”

Acknowledging the present with his successful real estate venture in Dubai, most commonly recognised by the giant advertisement alongside the metro station on one of the city’s busiest roads, Rahman says, “Real estate should meet people’s basic needs. That’s what drives us at ORO24.”

He emphasised the company’s commitment to serving human needs through its real estate developments. This philosophy, he explains, drives their approach to project development, ensuring that each project caters to the needs of its users, whether it is providing dedicated parking bays for delivery personnel, or designing closets specifically for storing suitcases, recognising the needs of the expatriate population in Dubai.

In a market as dynamic and competitive as Dubai’s real estate sector, maintaining a unique position requires constant innovation and reinvention. Rahman acknowledges the challenges but remains steadfast in his approach. “We’re always reimagining projects based on what people actually need. Reinventing is how we stay ahead here,” he explains, highlighting their commitment to delivering projects that stand out in a booming market.

Looking to the future, Rahman dreams big for ORO24, envisioning it as a global real estate corporation headquartered in Dubai. He emphasises the importance of remaining focused on delivering quality projects while also embracing failures as part of the journey towards success. With ambitious plans for expansion, both locally and globally, his vision for ORO24 knows no bounds.

But amid his aspirations for business success, Rahman remains grounded, offering advice to aspiring entrepreneurs. “Hard work and integrity will take you far,” he advises, stressing the importance of passion, belief, and resilience in the face of challenges.

When asked why someone should choose ORO24’s real estate offerings, he humbly defers, emphasising that while the company focuses on creating compelling reasons for consumers to choose them, ultimately, it is up to the individual’s preferences and needs. He believes in letting the quality of their projects speak for itself.

“Value your time, health and knowledge above all else,” Rahman concludes. “Those things empower you to make a real difference in the world.”
